Hello. My name is Kevin Price, serving Raleigh County as Fire Coordinator.
Thank you for visiting our website! I will be making regular updates to keep the citizens of Raleigh County informed on the progress the fire departments are making with the help of the Raleigh County Fire Levy.
I am a retired veteran of nearly 22 years with the Beckley Fire Department. I was hired in 1990 and worked his way up through the ranks and achieved the rank of Captain. For almost 10 years I served as the Fire Marshal and headed up the Fire Prevention Bureau in the Beckley Fire Department.
During my career I completed classes including Emergency Medical Technician, Haz-Mat Operations, Fire Officer, NIMS, along with many others. I also achieved the Journeyman Firefighter certificate from the US Department of Labor. During my career, I not only served our city, but along with other firefighters went beyond our city limits to assist other departments, not only in our state, but in our nation as well. I helped with the flood that ravaged Wyoming County as well as the disaster at the Upper Big Branch Mine near Whitesville. I also spent 30 days during the recovery efforts after Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita ravaged New Orleans.
Prior to my service with the Beckley Fire Department, I attended Woodrow Wilson High School and graduated Concord College with a degree in Business Management and currently reside in Beckley.
I look forward to assisting the fire departments in Raleigh County in making the fire service something that the citizens of Raleigh County can be proud of for many years to come.
